Humanwell Healthcare announced on November 12 that it planned to sign the Equity Transfer Agreement with Xinjiang Uyghur Medicine Hospital so as to be transferred the 14.85% equity of Xinjiang Weiuer Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. with 29.70 million yuan, whose equity was held by the hospital. The company will hold 69.85% equity of Xinjiang Weiuer Pharmaceutical after the transaction, which will further enhance the company’s scale and competitiveness in Uighur ethnic drug field.
As one ethnic drug enterprise integrating R&D, production and sales, Xinjiang Weiuer Pharmaceutical is also an ethnic drug manufacturing enterprise currently with the largest investment in Uyghur medicines, with most varieties and most comprehensive dosage forms in Uyghur medicines in China. Before the investment, Humanwell Healthcare and Xinjiang Uyghur Medicine Hospital respectively held 55% and 45% equity of Xinjiang Weiuer Pharmaceutical.
It is learned that there are currently 20 products of Xinjiang Weiuer Pharmaceutical with Chinese drug approval number, of which 12 are Chinese exclusive varieties and 4 are TCM protected varieties in China; and 7 varieties are listed in Chinese medical insurance catalog, and 14 varieties are listed in local medical insurance catalog of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
Xinjiang Weiuer Pharmaceutical has obtained rapid development in recent years, and the annual growth in net profit in recent three years was about 50%; the company would hold 69.85% equity of Xinjiang Weiuer Pharmaceutical to further enhance the company’s scale and competitiveness in Uighur ethnic drug field, as expressed by Humanwell Healthcare.
