China's Ministry of Commerce late Monday announced a second list of companies that will receive part of the 5,387 mt of export quotas for silver in 2014.

The ministry in mid-December released the first list of Chinese producers and trading companies that were granted 2014 export quotas for silver, totaling 2,865 mt, and a final list is expected to be announced in mid-June.

Jiangxi Copper, which made it to the second list, will be able to export 155 mt of silver and Daye Nonferrous 85 mt. Yunnan Tin will be allowed to export 36 mt of silver this year and Baiyin Nonferrous 29 mt, MOC said in a statement on its website.

The export quota for 2014 at 5,387 mt was unchanged from that in 2013.

The first batch of export quotas was calculated based on the varying production levels of companies and their export volumes and values between the start of 2011 and October 2013.

The export quotas issued only for certain nonferrous metals aim to limit output of these metals, which are produced in energy-intensive industries, and protect the country's available resources.
