BAKU, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Retail prices of petrol, diesel fuel and wholesale prices of some oil products increased in Azerbaijan in accordance with a Tariff Council's decision as of Tuesday.

The Council's decision also drives up the tariff for natural gas sales to electric power enterprises as well as aluminum, chemicals and steel enterprises.

The Tariff Council reported Tuesday that a liter of gasoline AI- 95 sold for 0.60 AZN (Azerbaijani mantas) now costs 0.80 AZN, and the AI-92 and AI-80 gasoline sold for 0.55 AZN now costs 0.70 AZN per liter. One U.S. dollar is equal to 0.7844 AZN according to Dec. 3 official exchange rate.

The tariff for natural gas sales to companies rose to 80 AZN per 1,000 cubic meters. Tariff Council refused to increase tariffs for urban passenger transport following rise in gasoline and diesel fuel prices.
