TEHRAN, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Iran produced 119,560 tons of aluminum ingots in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year, March 21-July 22, marking a 6 percent year-on-year increase, Tehran Times daily reported on Saturday.
In the first four months of current Iranian calendar year, Iran also produced 82,967 tons of aluminum powder, an increase of 13 percent compared to the same period of last year, according to Press TV.
The Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has announced that Iran's annual aluminum output would hit 1.5 million tons by the end of the country's 20-Year Vision Plan, which runs until March 2025.
According to the Press TV, Iran plans to become the world's 14th leading aluminum producer by the end of its 5th Economic Development Plan, which begins in 2010 and ends in 2015.
