Price trend
According to data from SunSirs, on June 10, the average market price of diethylene glycol was 6,543.33 RMB/ton, a decrease of 300 RMB/ton from the beginning of the month, a drop of 4.38%.
In early June, the price of diethylene glycol fell slightly. Sinopec's ex-factory price in North China was lowered by 300 RMB/ton, and Sinopec's ex-factory price in South China was lowered by 200 RM /ton.
Analysis review
In terms of inventory, as of June 7, the total inventory of diethylene glycol in the main ports of East China was 13,800 tons, a decrease of 4,430 tons from last Monday, a decrease of 24.3%. An export order of 5,000 tons has been traded last week, and an export order of 3,000 tons is expected to be traded this week.
In terms of equipment, the second phase of the Zhejiang Petrochemical Project, a new installation in the domestic diethylene glycol market, will soon be put into operation and is expected to ship in mid-June. After the new device is put into production, the tight inventory can be relieved.
Market outlook
The weak market of the downstream unsaturated polyester resin industry continues. Due to seasonal factors, terminal orders are reduced. Downstream buyers mostly wait and see, and the overall market enthusiasm is not high. The off-season is approaching, and the downstream operating rate slows down. The current market is affected by weak demand, and the overall operation is steady. The weak and volatile market for diethylene glycol may continue.
