The downstream market was sluggish and the willingness to purchase was not strong
Judging from the manufacturers' quotations, the sulfuric acid prices of mainstream manufacturers in Shandong region fell this week, the manufacturers' inventories were general, and the downstream demand weakened. Heze Jiangyuan’s sulphuric acid price at the weekend was 6,800 RMB/ton, compared with the beginning of the week, the quotation dropped by 20 RMB/ton; Zouping Tianlu’s sulphuric acid price this weekend was 470 RMB/ton, compared with the beginning of the week, the quotation dropped by 30 RMB/ton; Jinan Yuanfei's sulphuric acid price was 650 RMB/ton, compared with the beginning of the week, the price was temporarily stable.
From the perspective of the upstream and downstream industry chain, the sulfur market in the upstream has recently been consolidated at a high level, with weak rise and general cost support. However, the downstream formic acid and IPA markets fell slightly, while the price of hydrofluoric acid fell significantly, which had a negative impact on the price of sulfuric acid on the whole.
Market outlook
In late May, the sulfuric acid market in Shandong Province may fluctuate and fall slightly. The upstream sulphur price has consolidated at a high level recently, but the rise is weak, the situation in the downstream market is poor, the downstream enthusiasm for purchasing sulfuric acid is average, and the product trend is down due to the contradiction between supply and demand.
