Dubai-headquartered polyethylene terephthalate maker Equipolymers is set to conduct a major four-week turnaround at its Schkopau plant in Germany, to begin March 1.
The maintenance works will take place at its PET 1 unit, which has a current production capacity of 160,000 mt/year.
Equipolymers' overall PET production capacity is about 335,000 mt/year, which includes the PET 2 facility with a production capacity of 175,000 mt/year.
The four-week shutdown will further support the European PET market, which continued to edge slightly higher this week as rising Asian demand and firmer feedstock prices provided support.
Equipolymers is a fully owned subsidiary of MEGlobal.
