Shell Chemical began restarting an olefins unit at its Norco, Louisiana, petrochemical complex Monday after planned maintenance, sources said Tuesday.
Maintenance on the OL-5 steam cracker began on December 4 and was scheduled to last two to three weeks, sources said.
The company operates two steam crackers -- GO-1 and OL-5 -- at the site with a combined capacity of 1.372 million mt/year.
The company did not respond to a request Tuesday for confirmation or further comment.
