Celanese said it plans to raise ethyl acetate pricing in North America by 3 cents/lb on June 1.
Ethyl acetate pricing will see hikes of $65/mt in Mexico and South America, the company said in an announcement obtained by S&P Global Platts Wednesday.
The increase will be effective for the US, Canada, Mexico and South America for June 1 or as contracts otherwise allow, the statement said.
Celanese did not cite a specific reason for the June increases.
Previously, Celanese announced an 8 cents/lb increase to ethyl acetate pricing in May in both the US and Canada. In addition, Celanese raised ethyl acetate prices by $175/mt in Mexico and South America.
Market sources have been awaiting pricing announcements and expected increases given higher feedstock costs.
Platts last assessed US ETAC on Tuesday at 62-63 cents/lb ($1,367-$1,389/mt) FOB USG and at 65-66 cents/lb ($1,433-$1,455/mt) DER.
