Prompt prices have remained flat against a balanced system on the UK NBP gas trading hub at midday London time Monday while the curve has seen marginal gains in line with oil contracts.

The within-day contract was trading at 52.7 pence a therm at midday, up by 0.10 p/th from Friday's close.

At noon London time, the national gas system was finely balanced at 212.6 million cubic meters, data from National Grid shows.

Slumping behind seasonal norms by 30 million-40 million cu m in recent days, forecast demand edged closer to the August 15 average of 233.5 million cu m.

Helping to balance the system are strong Norwegian supplies as well as the resumption of gas from the SEAL pipeline.

SEAL ceased pumping gas at the beginning of the month due to gas field maintenance at Shearwater and Elgin-Franklin.

Elgin-Franklin restarted on Saturday after two-weeks of maintenance, Total said.

At midday the SEAL line was flowing at rates of 10 million cu m/day.

The Langeled Norwegian line is supplying about 40 million cu m/d.

The day-ahead contract remained flat at 52.60 p/th.

LNG supplies are strong with the South Hook terminal putting through 40 million cu m/d and the Isle of Grain terminal about 25 million cu m/d.

The front month, September, contract is trading at 51.25 p/th, down by 0.15 p/th from Friday.

Oil contracts have traded rangebound as sentiment remained on the cautious side following volatile trading last week.

At midday Monday London time, September ICE Brent was slightly higher by $0.07 from Friday's close at $108.17/barrel.

Curve UK gas contracts also registered marginal gains, with Q4 11 up 0.10 p/th at 67.20 p/th and Winter 11 up 0.30 p/th at 70.20 p/th.

Summer and Winter 12 both gained 0.25 p/th at 65.25 p/th and 74.50 p/th, respectively.

The Mozah is due to berth at the South Hook terminal on August 19 and is to be followed by the Al Mafyar on August 22, according to local port data.

Both ships hail from Ras Laffan.
