PolyOne will increase the selling price on its US plasticizers by 4 cents/lb ($88/mt), effective October 1, according to a letter obtained by S&P Global Platts Monday.
The increase is on all branched grades of SynPlast plasticizers, while pricing on PolyOne's linear SynPlast plasticizers will not be increased, the company said in the letter sent to customers Friday.
"This price increase is in response to elevating costs for key plasticizer raw material," PolyOne said in the letter.
The increase was the latest one announced by sellers for October 1.
Eastman will increase the price of its non-phthalate plasticizer, dioctyl phthalate plasticizer, DOA plasticizer, TOTM plasticizer and VersaMax plus plasticizer in North America by 4 cents/lb, effective October 1, according to a letter sent to customers and seen by Platts Wednesday.
Sources have expected increases for October due to higher feedstock chemical-grade propylene contracts for August and expectations of higher contracts for September.
Chemical-grade propylene contracts for August settled 3.5 cents/lb higher than July at 35.5 cents/lb, sources said. The initial September US propylene contract price nomination called for a 7 cents/lb hike from August, sources said Friday.
DINP was last assessed Thursday at 55 cents/lb delivered, and DOTP was last assessed at 57 cents/lb delivered.
