Berberine Hydrochloride

 Berberine is an isoqinoline alkaloid shown to have a chemopreventive property against colon tumor formation by inhibiting the enzyme Cox-2 which is abundantly expressed in colon cancer cells. Also inhibits c-Jun, a transcription factor that plays a critical role in inflammation and carcinogenesis.

Berberine is able to activate an enzyme called Adenosine Monophosphate-Activated Protein Kinase to fight against inflammation.
