Licorice Extract
Details Acid content ≥ 20% (in accordance with the standards of the 2000 Edition Pharmacopoeia). This product is a licorice-derived extract, appearing as a dark brown solid with a faint characteristic odor and a long-lasting sweetness, soluble in both water and ethanol. It is a mild medicine, commonly used with expectorant and antitussive agents. It reduces irritation of the pharyngeal mucosa, relieves gastrointestinal smooth muscle spasm, and exhibits desoxycorticosterone-like effects. It is used in the treatment of bronchitis, pharyngitis, bronchial asthma, and chronic adrenocortical hypofunction.
